Solitaire — free online Klondike card game

Solitaire is the patience game that came with every office computer, and this is the same Klondike you already know. Deal a fresh game, build the four foundation piles from ace up to king, and take as long as you like. It runs in your browser with no download and no sign-up, on a phone just as well as on a laptop.

How to play

1. Tap a face-up card to pick it up, then tap the pile you want it to go to.
2. Build the tableau columns down in alternating colours — a red seven goes on a black eight.
3. Only a king can move into an empty column.
4. Tap the deck in the top left to turn cards over. Choose draw 1 for an easier game or draw 3 for the classic challenge.
5. Double-tap any card to send it straight to the foundation piles.

Tips

• Turn over face-down cards early — a column you cannot see is a column you cannot plan with.
• Do not empty a column unless you have a king ready to fill it.
• Undo is unlimited, so try a line of play and step back if it dead-ends.
• Draw 1 games are winnable far more often than draw 3. Start there if you are learning.
