Memory — free online matching pairs game
Turn over two cards. If they match, they stay. If not, they flip back and you try to remember where they were. Simple to start, and surprisingly hard once the board grows. Three sizes from six pairs up to twelve, with your best move count saved for each. Free in your browser and good for all ages.
How to play
- Tap a card to turn it over.
- Turn over a second card to look for a match.
- Matching pairs stay face up. Anything else flips back.
- Find every pair to finish the board.
- Fewer moves is a better result — your best is saved for each size.
Tips
- Work through the board in a set order rather than tapping at random. Position is easier to remember than colour.
- When you turn over a new card, say its position to yourself. Naming it makes it stick.
- If you already know where a card's twin is, deal with it right away before you forget.
- Start on Easy with a child, then move to Hard once the six-pair board feels quick.
