How to play
The numbers next to each row and above each column tell you how many squares are filled there. They come in groups. “3 1” means a group of 3 filled squares, then at least one empty square, then a group of 1. The groups always stay in this order.
- Choose ■ Fill and tap a square to fill it. Tap it again to clear it.
- Choose ✕ Mark to mark squares you know are empty. Marks are notes for you.
- Slide your finger along a row or column to fill or mark many squares at once.
- When a row fits its clue, its numbers turn grey.
- You win when every filled square is right. You don’t have to mark the empty ones.
On a computer you can also use the arrow keys, Space to fill and X to mark. A right click marks a square.
The one trick that solves most rows
Look at a row of 10 squares with the clue 7. Push the group of 7 as far left as it can go. Then push it as far right as it can go.
Pushed left: squares 1 to 7.
Pushed right: squares 4 to 10.
Squares 4 to 7 are filled both times, so they are always filled.
This is called the overlap trick. Use it on every row and column with a big number first. A good rule: if a number is more than half the row, some middle squares are sure. The same trick works with several groups too. Just push all groups left, then all groups right, and compare each group with itself.
What this puzzle trains
- Logical thinking. Every square you fill has a reason. Nothing is luck.
- Focus. You keep a row and a column in your head at the same time.
- Planning. Good players look for the easiest line first, not the first line.
- Patience. Big puzzles reward calm, step-by-step work.
It is a good daily habit for your brain, like a crossword or sudoku. To be honest with you: no puzzle game is proven to raise your IQ or stop memory loss. We only promise good practice and a nice feeling when the last square fits.
Tips when you are stuck
- Start with the biggest numbers and with rows that show 0.
- Use ✕ a lot. An empty square gives you as much information as a filled one.
- Look at the edges. A filled square that touches the wall fixes the first group.
- Press 💡 Hint. It fills one square and tells you which row or column proves it. That way you learn the move, not just the answer.
- Think you made a mistake? Press ✔ Check. Wrong squares turn red.
Levels and the daily puzzle
Easy (5×5) is good for learning the rules. Medium and Hard need the overlap trick often. Expert (12×12) can take 15 minutes or more. The Daily puzzle is the same for everyone on the same date, and a new one comes at midnight. Solve it every day to build a streak.
